Arbor Configuration Cross Reference
My previous employers spent £55,000+ doing what I automated in days and now runs for free, how's that for return on investment. I love automating a manual task.
Nothing like using interns to manually cross reference dozens of customer configurations in Arbor DDoS to excel sheet templates, and then doing it again in 3 months time for premium package customers. Good old fetching the coffee kinda tasks! ☕️
I was drafted to be a part of the high potential retention program where a senior manager from another department would help progress my career, with the hopes that I'd remain in the company. I got landed the DDoS prevention senior lead, he mentored me for a while where I discovered an interest in developing, at the time I was an application support specialist for SIEM systems, Opsview (monitoring tool) while managing hundreds of linux servers.
During my time in the program I learnt the tools to scrape the Arbor website with beautiful soup, ingest the excel sheet's, cross reference them and print out a result... Oh and updated the excel sheet's too! A couple days work, result!!
